The McFaulds Lake project is located in a volcanic massive sulphide (VMS) geological setting that was accidentally discovered by De Beers Canada, while searching for diamonds. What's a VMS deposit? Please read this report by Mary Kearney. The initial discovery, McFaulds #1, underwent extensive drilling and the drill core was examined by geologist James Franklin. Please read his report.

In the summer of 2003, the property was surveyed by Fugro Airborne Surveys, using their GEOTEM system, as well as magnetics. Throughout 2003 and 2004, follow-up ground grids were surveyed using magnetics and horizontal loop electromagnetics. Several anomalies were drill tested and to date 10 copper-zinc mineralized bodies have been discovered.

The image below shows the locations of the ten discoveries on an airborne total magnetic field background.
