History
Spider Resources Inc. was formed in late 1992 and obtained listing on the Alberta Stock Exchange in mid 1993. At it’s inception, Spider Resources was focused exclusively on the exploration for, and the discovery of, diamonds in Ontario in conjunction with it’s then joint venture partner KWG Resources.
Under the auspices of this joint venture the exploration team discovered a total of 7 kimberlites in the James Bay area of Ontario, 5 kimberlites in the Temiskaming area, and 9 diamond-bearing lamprophyre dikes in the Wawa area. In addition to these achievements the exploration management team discovered a cluster of Volcanic Massive Sulphide (VMS) occurrences, which has subsequently evolved into the "McFauld’s Camp" consisting of several proven VMS occurrences, with significant exploration still remaining to be done.
The Company has also made promising and as yet not fully understood discoveries of chrome, platinum and palladium through the recently completed drilling on the Freewest option property.
In all, while the historical emphasis of Spider was exclusively on diamonds, the Company has evolved to incorporate a broader exploration portfolio, and through the redrafting of the historical joint venture to better reflect the wider range of Spider’s expertise, the Company is now poised to enter the next phases of it’s corporate growth and more fully become a multi-faceted exploration company hoping to better reflect value through the breadth of it’s interests.
